Last night’s raw Holiday Workshop at Kitchen Quickies

I just want to say thanks to all the ladies who joined us last night for our Holiday’s workshop. I think everyone loved the food and most importantly they feel like they can easily make it at home. One lady even commented that this was the best pumpkin pie she’s ever had in her life! We also made Carrot Cake, Chocolate-Mint Patties, Christmas Chocolates and Caramel Apples. It’s so awesome to have healthy alternatives for sweets, now we can have our cake AND eat it too!

Thanks to my friend Elise Aspa for assisting me and big thanks to Kitchen Quickies!!

Karen McGregor “Ignite Your Life Purpose” Retreat

What a great weekend! There is nothing more fulfilling for me than to be preparing food that nourishes the body and souls of people. It is my way of nurturing them and expressing my love. When Karen McGregor invited me to be a part of her retreat she said it was really important to feed her guests plant-based food. This would allow them to be in their body and go into their heart to connect with their life’s purpose. It was pretty amazing to watch and feel the energy in the room as people were shedding some layers and uncovering truth. Karen’s work is really powerful and much needed in our world. My goal was to make the food as healthy and yummy as possible. On the first day I served them a warm curry-yam stew with raw almond “toast” for lunch. For dinner we had a raw mexican fiesta with chocolate cake and caramel sauce for dessert. On Sunday I prepared some delicious spring rolls with my favourite ginger dipping sauce and we had cheesecake with double berry sauce to top it off. Everyone loved the food!

Our Raw Wedding

Stephen Wilde Photography

I wanted to share with you a brief summary of our special day. Crispin and I really cared to be surrounded by nature and to keep everything as authentic as possible, so as the food! My good friend Sarinda prepared all delicious raw food for dinner, and that was a way for us to express our love and gratitude for everyone we love so much. Her daughter Jaya was also there to help, isn’t she sweet!

Our menu: Rooted Love Beet Ravioli, Thai Summer Rolls, Spicy Green Wraps, Rainbow Wraps, Blissful Bite Of India and Flatbread Pizza. For dessert we had three different kinds of mini cheesecakes; Chocolate Black Forest, Strawberry and Blueberry Acai. Unfortunately I don’t have the recipes but you can visit Sarinda’s website at

Our friends and family really appreciated the food and everyone was glowing! For us that’s really what this day was about; a celebration of love. Because without our people, we wouldn’t be who we are today.

This was the most beautiful day of my life – powerful and timeless.

“All we need is love”

Apple-Cinnamon Fruit Leather

This is one of the easiest raw food snack to make and the kids love them! Also great for on-the-go snack and performance snack. I bring some with me when I go mountain biking, snowboarding and hiking. Awesome for traveling too!

4-5 Apples (skin included)
1 Tablespoon Honey
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon

Blend all ingredients in a Vitamix until really smooth.

Spread about 1/8 inch of the mixture onto a tray lined with teflex sheet and dehydrate for 6 to 8 hours.

Keep an eye on it and make sure you don’t let it get too dry and not pliable.

Tip: You can also cut them in strips, spread some almond butter and roll them up.

SEED Event with David Wolfe

The main reason I was going to the SEED Event was to hear David Wolfe speak. When we first got to the stadium we ran into him and got a chance to speak for a minute. He was sipping on his Chaga mushroom tea and had the biggest smile on his face. His energy was grand, solid, and very heart warming. There was a holistic power about him where I could feel a connection verses a separation and I loved that about him. To me that shows how David Wolfe is walking his talk and is really here for the people. I shared my gratitude for all the inspiration and knowledge I had gained from him over the years and I also asked him an important question that I get a lot from people; do people with blood type-O HAVE to eat meat? He said no. The only difference is type-O’s have a higher tolerance to meat (and junk food in general) but absolutely don’t need meat to be healthy. David is a Type O himself and has been on a plant-based diet for over 20 years. He mentioned that grains and beans aren’t ideal for blood type-O. He also said that people with blood type-A who eat meat are guaranteed to loose 20 to 25 years of their lives since they have very little tolerance for it. Crazy!! His speech was incredible, funny, and super empowering. Thank you David Wolfe :)

The rest of the day was filled with live music, raw/superfoods, and AMAZING speakers such as Adam McLeod, Gerald Celente, Jeffrey Armstrong and Deepak Chopra. The whole event was all about inspiring, educating, and empowering people to think for themselves, take charge of their own health, connecting with their inner power, and live through their heart. Gerald Clemente, the #1 Trend Forecaster in the World really let it rip on how our world is being run by “money junkies” (politicians), and gave the people great advice on how to prepare for the future. Jeffrey Armstrong, Western Master of Eastern Wisdom opened the hearts of every soul in the audience and got everybody to chant and go into their heart, a place called home… I had tears. Adam McLeod, the World’s Most In Demand Healer gave out some really powerful tools on how to work with our own body energy in order to heal ourselves. We missed Deepak Chopra, but I’m sure it was an enlightening experience.

I am so grateful for this experience! Events like these give me hope and confidence that the world can really transform into a positive and loving space, and this vision is the world I want to bring children to someday J

Food Preservation Workshop

First I want to thank Squamish CAN for supporting this event,  it feels GOOD to use government funds to offer a valuable experience for the community – for FREE

This workshop on Tuesday was on DEHYDRATION. I wasn’t sure if people expected to be learning how to dehydrate grapes and apples but I think they were pretty excited to leave feeling like making gourmet raw food can be easy AND tasty! We made Corn Tortilla Wraps (filled with cashew sour cream, peppers, avocados and chipotle salsa), Crackers (with fermented cashew cheese), Fruit Leather (rolled with almond butter and honey), and Macaroons to wrap it up!

I loved how everyone engaged and asked many questions, it felt more like a conversation where people really got to connect with each other and the food. I strongly encourage these types of events to allow communities to grow together, share ideas and support each other.

CHEF to MARKET – The Power of Local Farmers and Community

Yesterday was the weekly farmer’s market in Squamish and I was invited to demonstrate how to create a raw nutritious meal using ingredients available to buy at the market. I made a zucchini pasta with marinara sauce, which turned out amazing! I’m giving props to the farmers for providing the most tasty and fresh produce; it really takes a dish to the next level – for taste as well as nutritious value.

We had another successful and wonderful evening in Whistler on Tuesday night! Chef Sarah Uy and I served a fresh and delicious 4-course meal; coconut-curry soup to start, spring rolls with ginger dipping sauce, followed by a beautiful pad-thai and finished nicely with an amazing coconut crepe filled with fresh fruits, vanilla creme and raspberry sauce. No wonder we sold out…again!
